Direct
Alcohol Fuel Cell (DAFC) Group was
founded in 1999£¬and has a highly
interdisciplinary team of 43 staff,
including 3 professors, 2
associate-professors and 6 engineers
now. The R&D activities of the group
are mainly focus on fundamental and
engineering fundamental of direct
alcohol fuel cells£¨DAFC£©, alcohol
alkaline anion exchange membrane
fuel cells£¨A3EMFC£©, metal/oxygen
(air) batteries and electrochemical
sensors, etc. Researches on
electrode reaction mechanism,
polarization phenomenon, mass/heat
transmission, system integration and
process monitoring were carried out
by means of the theories and
technologies of modern
electrochemistry, catalysis,
chemical engineering, polymer
chemistry, electronics and material
science and so on.
More than 30 projects have been undertaken under financially
supported by the National Natural
Science Foundation of China, the
National High Technology Research
and Development Program of China,
the National Key Technologies R & D
Program of China, the Knowledge
Innovation Program of Chinese
Academy of Sciences and other
National and International projects
collaborated with those institutions
in United States, United Kingdom,
Germany and Korea.
More than 130 scientific papers and 40 patents have been
published, disclosed and pended
since the year of 2001.
